We close the main programme  of the Festival Maribor 2016 in cooperation with the Symphony Orchestra of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor, on this occasion led by the experienced Austrian conductor Günter Neuhold. At the centre of the evening will be Slovenian musical prowess in the form of formidable 13-year-old pianist Mak Muni Mihevc. Mak, born in Ljubljana, stands out from others of his generation both for his exceptional talent as well as for the unbelievable success he has already achieved. Having played piano since he was four, his repertoire today spans the great piano works of Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven and Schubert, and he has also already performed at the renowned Carnegie Hall in New York.

We look forward to what is sure to be one of the most youthful performances on the Festival Maribor, a concert with which we conclude this year’s events – that is to say, with ears open to young people and to everything new that is being born in our cultural environment!

In coproduction with SNG Maribor.
