Chamber Ensemble of the Maribor Festival 2016

At the center of the Maribor Festival 2016 is the festival’s ensemble-in-residence, the Maribor Festival Chamber Ensemble. The group is comprised of primarily principal players from the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra who are extremely active and successful both as soloists or as members of acclaimed chamber groups. The core string players are members of the Dissonance Quartet, while the wind players are from the Slowind woodwind quintet. The keyboard instruments will be played by our own Tomaž Sevšek and Armenian pianist Mikayel Balyan, both specialists for historical keyboard performance practice.
