Mak Muni Mihevc, piano

Young Slovenian musician Mak Mihevc was born into a musical family and thus developed his passion for piano when he first sat behind the keyboard at the age of four. His repertoire today comprises classical masterpieces by Liszt, Chopin, Beethoven and Schubert. On his 10th birthday, he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major under the direction of Slovenian conductor Simon Krečič; in 2015, he played Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor KV 466 with the symphonic orchestra Nova filharmonija under the baton of Simon Perčič.

Years of hard work also earned him a place at the 2013 Carnegie Hall’s winner recital, where he participated as the only Slovenian and European performer. His first solo piano recital included major works by Beethoven, Liszt and Chopin.

He currently continues his studies with mentor Zoltan Peter, who is a renowned Slovenian pianist and author of a book on piano accompaniment.
